Product description
Heliotropex N (IFF) is a fragrance base from IFF for use in products such as perfumes and cosmetics. It has a vanilla-like ‘balsamic’ scent with spice and floral notes. The fragrance strength is medium; Heliotropex can be used undiluted. It has a very wide range of applications, for example in floral fragrances such as heliotrope, acacia, lilac, and honeysuckle, as well as in gourmand fragrances and ambers. In most fragrance applications, it can replace heliotropine / piperonal one-to-one. An advantage over heliotropine is that it discolours much less easily. The full name of this IFF product is Heliotropex N 0512. IFF developed it for the professional market as a non-discolouring or minimally discolouring alternative to heliotropine. We are pleased with this, because heliotropine may only be sold to license holders. Heliotropine is, in fact, an important raw material for the production of ecstasy and related drugs. For that reason, we do not stock heliotropine and do not trade in it. Heliotropex N (IFF) is a yellow liquid. The scent resembles that of heliotropine: a balsamic, vanilla-like fragrance with some green, anise-like notes. It has a reasonably long shelf life. It is a mixture of fragrances; the formulation is unknown, as it is a trade secret of IFF. Dilution is not necessary; the scent is not so strong that frequent dilution would be required.
