Product description
Anisaldehyde is a fragrance material that can be used in perfumes or air fresheners, for example. The scent of anisaldehyde is reminiscent of the blossom scent of hawthorn, acacia, cassia, and the like. It is a combination of floral scents with vanilla and spice elements. Consequently, it is used in larger quantities in such floral fragrances. In smaller quantities, it can provide a subtle fresh and spicy accent. Think of various other floral scents such as carnation, linden blossom, and violet, but also perfumes with a strong spice character. Despite its aldehyde nature, anisaldehyde is well-suited for use in soap. As a rule, dilution is not necessary, as the scent is moderately strong. In perfumes, it serves as a heart to top note. Anisaldehyde is a clear, colourless to light yellow liquid. It occurs in nature, but usually in small quantities. An exception is cassia absolute, which can consist of up to 40% anisaldehyde. It occurs in smaller quantities in mimosa and vanilla. For use as a fragrance, it is produced synthetically. As an aldehyde, the shelf life is limited. As soon as the clarity of the liquid decreases, it is time for a new stock.
